Air China
Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking – acting as global lease arranger, IRS provider, lender, facility agent and security trustee – has been mandated to arrange the financing of six new narrow-body aircraft (four Airbus A321 and two Boeing B737-800 aircraft) worth approximately USD 300m to be delivered to Air China Ltd from January to July 2009. The financing structure is an innovative French lease structure funded with a 10-year commercial debt fully underwritten and held by Industrial & Commercial Bank of China. The first closing relating to an Airbus A321 aircraft delivery took place January 20, 2009. This second mandate from Air China, after SG CIB's breakthrough in 2007-2008 for the financing of four of their aircraft deliveries, demonstrates CAFI/IAB/AER's and CORI's success in establishing a strong relationship with this key customer of CORI China.
