The Peru LNG project financing was named Best Energy Deal in Latin America in the LatinFinance 2008 Infrastructure & Energy Awards. The project, financed through a USD 2.25bn senior debt package, is the largest foreign investment in Peru and the first LNG export project in South America, consisting of the construction and operation of a 4.45 MMTPA gas liquefaction plant.
