On 3rd February, at the Euroweek Syndicated Loans awards, Societe Generale was announced as Best Arranger of project finance loans for 2008.

This outstanding result is a tribute to the efforts made jointly by the Project Finance (CAFI/IAB and CAFI/NAT), Loan Syndicate and Loan Sales teams. Thanks to the successful collaboration of the CAFI and FICC teams, Societe Generale was able to play a leading role in some of the most high profile project finance transactions in 2008.

Yemen LNG (voted best Euroweek project finance loan for 2008): USD 2.4bn financing for two LNG trains in Yemen; TAV Tunisia: EUR 397m financing for the construction/maintenance of two airports in Tunisia; M5 Milan Metro: EUR 275m financing for the construction of a new metro line in Milan; Total Gabon: USD 600m financing for the re-development of an offshore oil field in Gabon; Grupo Lotos: USD 1.7bn financing for the Grupa Lotos refinery upgrade and expansion; Project Tokyo: EUR 708m refinancing of Autema toll road.
